A retrospective planning application was refused by committee, and an Enforcement Notice served against a small wooden cabin in a woodland setting in the Peak District National Park.  We appealed the refusal and the Enforcement Notice and, at an informal hearing session, we persuaded the Inspector that the cabin was policy compliant and that the enforcement process as a whole had been compromised by significant administrative errors.  The Enforcement Notice was therefore quashed and planning permission granted.   

An appeal was allowed for the stationing of three, small, wooden 'glamping' pods on a farmstead in the Peak District National Park.  We successfully argued that the development had no adverse landscape impact, being appropriately located close to existing buildings and trees, and with the pods constructed of natural materials that had weathered down effectively.  The Inspector agreed on all grounds.  

We built a strong case for the proposal to convert this barn into an open market dwelling. Despite its semi-derelict condition and prominent location in the National Park, the application was approved by planning committee.

This farm house was virtually destroyed by a gas explosion and fire eleven years before we submitted an application for a replacement dwelling. We put forward a series of complex and detailed arguments regarding the residential use of the property. We successfully proved that it was not abandoned, and the replacement dwelling was approved only six weeks after submission of the application. The applicant's new house is now nearing completion.

Planning permission and listed building consent were granted for the conversion of curtilage listed farm buildings in a National Park village into six, new, open market dwellings. The application was supported by a viability assessment to demonstrate that the dwellings were the optimum viable use for the site in order to save the designated heritage asset.

After thirty years of refusals and dismissed appeals on the site, we became involved in this project in 2023. We brought in the specialist advice of a buildings archaeologist and respected structural engineers to build a compelling case that the conversion of this stunning barn in open countryside was in the public interest. Planning permission and Listed Building Consent were subsequently granted by planning committee.

We successfully demostrated at appeal that this dwelling, constructed in the 1980s with an agricultural tie attached, had actually been built in a materially different location to that approved. The appeal was allowed and the Inspector concluded that the agricultural tie did not apply to the house.
